Denmark’s Aquarium – The Blue Planet wins a RIBA EU Award 2014

The whirlpool-shaped aquarium in Copenhagen is among this year’s 12 European winners

"RIBA EU Award is a significant award because it pays tribute to the architecture profession. It is given by peers - architects, which in other contexts may be out competitors. The jury thoroughly investigates each project and thus the RIBA awards differ from many more commercial architecture awards”, says Partner in 3XN, Jan Ammundsen.

The Blue Planet has previously been awarded with the Danish In Situ Award and a World Architecture Festival Award (WAF).

It is the second year in a row that 3XN receives a RIBA EU Award. Last year, the award went to Frederiksberg Courthouse.
