Ground Breaking on the new Copenhagen University Hospital

On Friday, January 10th, the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the extension of Copenhagen University Hospital took place, with Chairman of the Capital Region, Sophie Hæstorp Andersen having the honour of taking the first dig. The extension will include a north wing for treatment and research, along with a patient hotel and a parking garage.

The new Copenhagen University Hospital is an expression of sustainable and modern architecture where awareness of patient security, hygiene, working environment and flexibility for future needs and wishes play a large role.

‘This is architecture that will match the very best that a hospital can offer in patient treatment.  It will have physical environments that support the best possible treatment and an interior that ensures a high standard of patient care,’ says Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, Chairman of the Copenhagen Region.
